5.0 out of 5 stars highly unpretentious, entertaining and honest, Jun 6 2005
By Leopold Mcginnis - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Enjoy the Journey (Paperback)
I certainly did enjoy this journey. I picked the book up (for a discount) at the Toronto Small Press Book Fair on a whim. The book is full of 23 short stories that are refreshing, entertaining, funny and usually have some sort of moral at the end, if not for the reader, then for the narrator. Despite this, it never comes off as preachy, but more like hearing stories from an old friend.

The theme to each story seems to be the narrator exploring a new situation, culture or institution, observing, misunderstanding, erring and then finally understanding his surroundings. But every story is simply about living daily life. It's a challenge not to enjoy the journey.

Read this book 'Enjoy the Journey' and enjoy your day. The short stories are witty, humourous and real life stories of east and western cultures. It is simple and very easy to read book. The author has the grip and flow. After reading this book now I am thinking about my own real life experiences and how much humour that is in store, which is not exhibited to the outside world. I have only read two stories sofar in the book and put it aside, because it provokes me to write my own book with many short stories spiced with humour & witt ,Phil and Lit. The book is worth its price. Enjoy. The author also exhibits tremendous enthusiasm and observation of surroundings which comes from great interpretation of things we face in real life.
