Another Wonder from Marta,

Another wonderful CD from Marta Gomez (following in the steps of "Cantos de Aqua Dulce"). She has an incredibly beautiful voice, and does an amazing job of all of the songs. But the one I like best is the old standard "Cielito Lindo"; she does a gentle version of it, unlike any other. Very highly recommended.

A breath of fresh air for traditional Latinoamerican rithms. A beautiful exploration of classical and modern rithms from the Americas with a clear jazz influence. From Argentina, to Peru, from Uruguay to Cuba, from Venezuela to Mexico and always present Colombia. An alternative to the better known caribbean rithms that caracterize the common perception of latinoamerica musical culture. The lyrics are descriptive and full of images evocative of the life in the region. If you are looking for a great contemporary representation of latinoamerican music to listen and enjoy, this is your CD!

I ordered this after seeing Marta Gomez at the Rochester International Jazz Festival.Loved her performance, and love the CD. She has a very expressive and clear voice. The CD is filled with songs that show off her broad vocal quality. Beautiful! Highly recommended.

A Voice That Transcends Language,

It is difficult to describe both the voice and musical style of Marta Gomez. The voice is very clear, like a bell. The style, generally, is exceptionally mello for Latin Music, for any music. It is almost hypnotic. I only wish she did more U.S. performances, any on the west coast. She has become on of my favorite artists in any language.
