What a great disk this is! I bought it because I wanted something to listen to for Epiphany. Well, this is a perfect program for this time on the Church calendar. There's are some really great moments here, with beautiful singing. And there's an 'atmosphere' of spirituality and reverence that can only be achieved by recording inside a massive Church building.

The Feast of the Epiphany, 6 January, celebrates the manifestation of Jesus Christ, of God incarnate, to the Gentiles through the visit of the Three Magi or Kings. In the words of the "Nunc dimittis," which is included on this CD, Jesus is understood as "a light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of [God's] people Israel" (cf Luke 2:29-32). This CD glorifies and illumines the mystery of this feast through soul-stirring renditions of the music proper to the occasion, including hymns, carols, and anthems in English and in Latin. An excellent aid to deeper meditation on or heightened celebration of the Epiphany.
