tribute to a "miraculous magician", 'Erte' is a book to treasure., Feb 22 2007
By Kotori - Published on Amazon.com
Inspirational full colour reproductions of Erte's finest costume designs.
Although perhaps best remembered for his fabulous and fantastical costumes, in fact Erte (or, to give him his rightful name, Romain de Tirtoff) created so much more, from fashion design with Poiret, costume & set design for hundreds of stage shows, as well as Hollywood movies such as the 1926 Ben Hur.
This luxuriously illustrated volume contains a rich and representative slection of images, drawn from throughout Erte's long and extraordinarily productive career. A detail introduction to the artist's life and work is complemented by over 100 exquisite fullcolour plates, which pay tribute to a "miraculous magician". 'Erte' is a book to treasure.

I really love this book! The are work is clear and colors are brilliant. Great text too;along with all the illustrations there is a very nice biographical section which is most informative. This is a lovely collection of the work of a creative, imaginative genius!
And the price is Amazon at its best!
