Product Description

The government lied.

A UFO did, in fact, crash land in the New Mexico desert in the summer of 1947. Quickly intercepted by the US military, the unidentified flying object and its occupants were whisked away to secret installations.

In 1985, after almost forty years of research, a successful splice of alien and human DNA is achieved.

Raised as a lab experiment that the military hoped to be a “super-soldier,” Omega, trained in combat, educated strenuously, becomes the main component in General “Anvil” Hendricks elite military unit assigned to Phantom Base in Adaven, New Mexico. General Hendricks, a three-star general, believes the Omega Project will be the key to his elusive fourth star.

After a perilous first mission, the program is suspended, the plug pulled…

…if it were only that easy

After all, who said heroes had to be human?

Escape, Book 1 of Omega: Earth’s Hero, by Keith Latch, a novella serial based on the 1950’s pulp novels and Saturday afternoon matinees at the cinema of science fiction adventure, is the first in a series of science fiction-superhero adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Escape. Feb. 20 2012
By Steve Wands (author of Stay Dead) - Published on Amazon.com

This is a hell of a start to a series. While most origin stories are boring and pretty much a paint by numbers exercise, Latch manages to introduce all the major players in the series, give you everything you need to know, while making you think about where the series is going to go and he gives you plenty of action to keep it exciting. If you like serialized fiction, comics, and sci-fi than I'd highly recommend you check it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but very short Feb. 20 2013
By Dana S - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I chose this book because I was interested in the concept of merging alian and human DNA. I found that the treatment of the issue was good but by the time I was really interested in the book and its development it was over.116 pages when the concept should have created a 500 page book. If this is another of the attempts to jack up prices by "serializing" a novel into a couple of chapters per bite I am disappointed. Many authors I see are going to that method of increasing revenue and I suppose I will have to guard myself against having to spend $1.99 ten times to read a $6.99 book.

4.0 out of 5 stars area 51- what if there WAS an alien crash, and a Military programmed Super-Soldier? Jan. 10 2014
By Andrew Dell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Area 51creates a super-soldier made from human(?) and alien DNA... programmed by computer orders from the military- till the human side came out. When he takes out some terrorists that threaten the 1st lady, he "botches" the mission by saving an extra humans life; blamed and sent for re-programming, he finds a choice. An alien... Program? calls for help, giving him a way out...
Written well, this story propels the reader with him thru his eyes, and those around him, into his escape.
