Simply a great blues guitar player,

Upfront, let's just get it out of the way. I'm a huge Gary Moore fan. I like the tone he gets. I like the way he plays. Ever since he "abandoned" the metal route and went back to his roots, ie: British Blues, I've liked him even more (Although he revisits his metal phase on one of these discs). His vocals are good, not great, but good, but hey...vocals are just the things that take up space between guitar solos, right? This is a great set of discs. I've always thought that good guitar players are better heard live and Moore is no exception. There are a lot of duplications in the five discs, but that's okay. He knows that there are songs that fans expect him to play. The more I hear of these "Live at Montreux" discs; the more I wonder what other gems are in the vaults?? C'mon guys, open the vaults!

Five discs of essential Gary Moore all recorded live at Montreaux it doesn't get any better. Lots of old favourites and a few songs never recorded live before. Any Gary Moore fan will love this 5 disc set spanning 7 years. Although some songs appear twice on the collection there are some big differences in how he played them. I highly recommend you buy this collection.

For the money these album are not worth the listen Gary should stick to studio recording the quality is just not there
