A Pretty Good Compilation, Juil 11 2004
First off, I like how the music was fairly evenly distributed. However, there were more songs from "Blizzard of Ozz" & "No More Tears" than the others, and the extras from those could have been used for something from "The Ultimate Sin". It's understandable though since Ozzy doesn't like that album, and he has every right not to like and not to include it, since it's his music. "The Ultimate Sin" isn't that bad of a CD though, except for Shot In The Dark. It's a terrible track in my opinion, and though I can't explain why, I'll just say it doesn't seem like it's a song that should have came from Ozzy. There was a few tracks that didn't need to be on there (Rock 'n' Roll Rebel, I Don't Want To Change The World (Live), No Easy Way Out), but that's just my opinion, and it all depends on people tastes in music. Most of the tracks are good though, and I'm pretty pleased with the CD. Following the trend, here's what my version of "The Essential Ozzy Osbourne" would have looked like (You won't see any songs originally by Black Sabbath on here because in my eyes they belong on a Black Sabbath compilation, or on Speak/Talk of The Devil): *Disk 1* 01 - I Don't Know 02 - Crazy Train (realistically you can't not include it) 03 - Goodbye To Romance 04 - Dee 05 - Mr. Crowley 06 - Revelation (Mother Earth) 07 - You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You 08 - You Said It All (Live) 09 - Flying High Again 10 - You Can't Kill Rock And Roll 11 - Diary of A Madman 12 - Bark At The Moon 13 - Centre of Eternity 14 - So Tired 15 - Slow Down 16 - Killer of Giants 17 - Shot In The Dark (from Just Say Ozzy) *Disk 2* 01 - Miracle Man 02 - Fire In The Sky 03 - Hero 04 - The Liar 05 - Mama, I'm Coming Home 06 - No More Tears 07 - S.I.N. 08 - Time After Time 09 - Road To Nowhere 10 - Mrs. J 11 - Ghost Behind My Eyes 12 - Old L.A. Tonight 13 - Aimee 14 - Back On Earth 15 - Dreamer 16 - You Know...(Part 1) 17 - Running Out of Time 18 - A brand new song that leaves a great ending. Notice I included a lot of the extras and B-sides (You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You, You Said It All, The Liar, Mrs. J, Aimee). They're all great songs.
