I have read through the whole book in preparation for my MCCQE Part 1 examination. Section on ethics was outstanding. The rest of the book is occasionally incoherent, incomplete and sometimes factually incorrect. There is an overemphasis on the pathophysiology of disease, which is seldom tested on the MCCQE. There is an overemphasis on drug dosing, which is not tested on the MCCQE. Every section is different stylistically and content-wise. This is not a book for the MCCQE, it is a collection of general medical facts written sometimes organized in flow charts and bullet lists.

I was happier reading materials for the USMLE Step 2 CK and supplementing with Canadian-specific content from publicly available resources such as AFMC Public Health Primer and ethics course materials.

I personally did not like this book. It is missing a lot of information I find would be important (eg, side effects of valproic acid and lithium in psyhiatry section, among countless other example).I found myself using the Toronto Note pdf copy to complete note in this book in all sections.

The organisation is weird, there is too little accronym in one place and in other they are used without being referenced elsewhere, which is confusing.

Do yourself a favor, do not buy this book, it is a costly one for what it offer. Go with toronto Note and work with objectives to find what to study.
