5.0 out of 5 stars This is a top recommended classroom text as much as a reference library acquisition!, Feb 13 2011

This review is from: Essentials of Health Economics (Paperback)
College-level students will appreciate Diane M. Dewar's ESSENTIALS OF HEALTH ECONOMICS, a fine step-by-step approach to the study of the healthcare system through economics. Undergrads receive a fine text surveying economic and public health issues alike, with descriptions of evaluative economic s and biographies of famous economists and policy figures complimenting discussion questions at chapter's end. This is a top recommended classroom text as much as a reference library acquisition!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, Mar 3 2010

I definitely would not buy this book unless it was required for a class, and then I would consider all other options. The book has a duel personality, very baby simple, to overly abstract and difficult. Then there are some chapters like technology and sociology that makes you wonder if you are even reading an economics book anymore.
