5.0 out of 5 stars Estonia and the Estonians, Mar 22 2010
By Christopher J. Cole - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Estonia and the Estonians (Paperback)
My wife was born in Tallinn, Estonia. Having fled her homeland in 1941 with her parents, following the Russian invasion, Prof. Toivo Raun's book: "Estonia and the Estonians", is of invaluable importance to her.

The book's comprehensive coverage of Estonia's history is a gratifying background into which she can now place the experiences of herself, her parents and her grandparents. The chapters which deal specifically with the "turbulent" years from 1917 onwards, provide her with immense satisfaction and revelation.

Our heartfelt thanks to you, Prof. Raun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent source of information, Nov 11 2010
By Caleb Santos - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Estonia and the Estonians (Paperback)
I love the detailed and insightful history described in this book. I had to put the book down when I got to the chapter covering 1941. It was too depressing. If you want to know more about estonian history or world history for that matter this book will not disappoint.
