4.0 out of 5 stars Reviewed by twolipsreviews.com, July 31 2009

This review is from: Eternal Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Jacob Marshall is a were wolf. He saves the beautiful PI Renata Cordona from being eaten by wild dogs, and he knows she is his mate. The electricity and the connection between them tells him his gut is right, that she is his mate. Renata feels it too, but she is fighting more than just her feelings for the sexy Jacob, she is trying to find a madman that is killing people. This madman has more than just random people on his mind. He has the entire existence of were-kind in mind. Can you change the past? And how do you stop a madman determined to rule, no matter what or who gets in his way? Protecting his mate is going to be harder than Jacob ever imagined and falling in love is only the first adventure. The secrets both keep make for the real adventure of a life time!

Rebecca York has a tale of mystery, greed and a love of a life time in Eternal Moon. I was completely sucked into the trials and tribulations of Jacob and Renata. Renata is a spunky, fearless woman. She is used to protecting others, so having someone protect her is a new and uncomfortable feeling. The fact that everyone she has ever loved has died doesn't make her believe in true love or people sticking around. So when Jacob shows up he has a huge uphill battle on his hands, and especially with her special secret that links them together. He is more than up for the battle. He is strong, masculine and true alpha. I love the loyalty and love that lasts over many life times. This is book 8 in the moon series. It can be read alone and completely enjoyed but I highly recommend them all. Rebecca York is an amazing writer and should not be missed! If you like a love that can last many lives, adventure, and mystery, read Eternal Moon today!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great author, but this one wasn't a winner, April 19 2009
By J-Reader "Loves Books" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Eternal Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
I love Ms. York's books, but this one wasn't a winner for me. It reminded me of those magnetic word puzzles where one picks a random set of words and then has to craft a sentence. It was as if someone provided a list of plot points and dared her to use ALL of them in one book. This book had everything but the kitchen sink: werewolf, demon, alternate universe, ancient goddess, mysterious powers, serial killer, tortured romance. Unfortunately it was all over the place. The main characters were "okay", neither was particularly compelling. The story seemed thin and contrived. On the bright side, we did get a glimpse of characters from previous stories, so it was nice "seeing" them again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Way too many things/elements going on in this book!, Jun 9 2009
By Susie - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Eternal Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Eternal Moon is the 10th book in the Moon series by Rebecca York. I really wanted to give this book a better rating, but I just couldn't. If the story had been more stripped down to just the hero and heroine, it would have been so much better. But it felt like Ms.York was trying to include too many different things/elements in this book. Enough already what with the portals, demon, werewolves, goddess, the Fates, alternate universe, barbarians, dog whisperer, animal cruelty elements, reincarnation, etc. and the kitchen sink.

There was just too much going on, plus I felt like the dialogue between characters was somewhat amateurish/juvenile. Cheesy even. The relationship between the hero and heroine was rushed, and I tend to stay away from novels with kooky reincarnation elements. Even if you go for that belief, you will probably still find this novel lacking.

The story is about P.I. Renata Cordona, a goddess in a former life, and werewolf/human Jacob Marshall. Jacob recognizes Renata as his life mate, and recognizes that she has been his lover in previous lives. Renata is investigating the murder of several female real estate agents, and she is setting herself up as bait. What she doesn't realize is that there is also a demon hunting for her. This demon will stop at nothing to ensure that Renata and Jacob do not get together because they can combine their powers and destroy him. This is a disappointing read. 2 stars!
