5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for the money! Dec 26 2012

Before I purchased these, I was using the generic $10-20 earbuds you can find in any store. I listen to music all the time, so I figured it was time to spend a little more and try something better. I ended up with these.

The earbuds are definitely different, since they go deep into the ear, and may be a little uncomfortable at first. But once you get them in properly, the noise isolation is awesome. The foam buds are decent as well.

As for the sound. . . there is no comparison to the cheap ones I was using before. At first, it was hard to tell the difference, but after a while of using them, I realized I could pick out every different instrument easily. There is amazing clarity to the music, and it was like I was listening to each song for the first time all over again.

That said, there is one downside to these. The bass. While you can pick out the bass clearly, it just sort of blends right into the other instruments. There is no real oomph! to it. If you're looking for some earbuds that'll reverberate bass inside your head, these are not them. However, if you're content with incredible sound otherwise, you'll be happy with these.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good mids Good highs NO bass Nov. 24 2013
Verified Purchase
Don't get me wrong I really like this set of earbuds. If your seeing these earbuds at $40 right now then go for it. Here's a list of pros and cons if you want to make sure that these are right for you.

If you are an EDM listener or rap or anything that uses a lot of bass this is not the pair for you. (You can stop reading now)

Clear detailed highs and mids excellent for alt rock, vocals, and instrumentals like trumpet, flute, saxophone.

Probably one of the better deals you'll find on amazon.ca ;)

Whenever the cord wiggles too much you here it crackle. Not sure if this is normal but I've never had this problem with another set. Keep in mind I don't review for a living so this is just an average person's opinion.

No bass or very little. Speaks for itself

Ear tips are limited and if you don't find your fit well there goes your money. I did actually the set that came on the earbuds fit fine. So lucky me.

Overall this is a great set of earbuds for pop alt rock listener. What I actually noticed when I switched back to my on ear headphones for a while was that bass may be one of the most magical parts of music. And I don't mean listening to dubstep till the windows shatter but rather just the nice little pop that you get at the beginning of every bar. So you might just buy these to get a new appreciation for bass and the whole heartedness of music when properly executed.

So would I buy these again?
Yes, I would because I don't know any other $40 dollar in ears that demonstrate the clarity and depth to music. With that said if you have a larger budget then get something else.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed with this product May 17 2013
Verified Purchase
I have to admit to being disappointed with this product even though it seems I am in the minority given the generally positive reviews here on amazon and elsewhere. Everything about the earphones is solid and well made so no complaints there. And they do do a reasonable job of canceling out background noise. Trouble is I can't find a combination from the four different sets of eartips that really work comfort-wise for me. Another beef is, that while the earphone cancels out background noise any movement of the cord does reverberate in my ear and it can be very annoying. It means I have to sit perfectly still when I'm listening to music or watchng a movie on my laptop. Not what I expected from a product of such reputed quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great in high-noise environements April 7 2014
Verified Purchase
I use these in a common-work area where there is a lot of noise (fans from servers), and these definitely do the trick! It took a few tries, but I found the right fit for my ear (ER38-17 Glider).

**NOTE**: there is a break-in period for these headphones. They sound very tinny and cheap for the first 10 hours or so at a reasonable volume. The bass levels out, but is not overbearing - a very balanced and calibrated sound. A good fit is a must, as it WILL change the perceived acoustic qualities.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really bad headphones April 1 2014

I bought these and was really disapointed with the way they sound. They felt awkward in the ear. Generally very poor. Stay clear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just do it. Aug. 8 2013

I use these headphones every day in an open concept office. I wanted something that would block out ambient and louder, more immediate noise. The way these seal in to your ears make them a worthwhile investment. I can't hear a thing when I have my music on, and I can keep it at a reasonable volume. Music sounds great.
