Who knew????,

This review is from: Everybody's Fine (DVD)
Who knew Robert DeNero could be so funny! He is a delight in this film. The supporting actors are good but he made the movie for me! Kleenex needed for ending, but well worth it!

without giving anything away this movie is basically about the important things in life,in this case reconnecting with family.Robert De Niro plays the lead character who takes a journey to do just that.in between is what happens to him as a person, and how he changes, and how his family changes.De Niro brings a strong performance to the table here, and draws the viewer in to his world and we feel what he feels.Drew Barrymore,Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell all put in good supporting performances, but De Niro is the glue which holds the piece together.this is one of De Niro's better performances in the last couple of years.and the material is also very good.for me,Everybody's Fine is a 4/5

Beautiflly melancholic tale of a father trying to reconnect with his kids...,
By
This review is from: Everybody's Fine (DVD)
Kirk Jones wrote and directed "Everybody's Fine". This is an wonderfully quiet film that follows the lonely Frank Goode (Robert De Niro) who goes on a trip to visit his children (Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell), since they were too busy to visit him. Unbeknown to Frank is that his artist son, who is in Mexico, has run into some problems, but the other children are trying to cover up this fact. We follow Frank, who is a kind, and intelligent man, who has never really been close to his children, and who is making the effort to bridge this gap late in his life. This is a heartfelt exploration about a father trying to connect with his children which inevitably nurtures a feeling of goodwill and love.
