5.0 out of 5 stars What an absolute success!! April 3 2012
By MLM - Published on Amazon.com
In this latest album, PVD has proved that he is one of the few artists that has been able to evolve and contribute to the ever changing sounds of what we broadly term as "electronic music". "Evolution" cannot be classed as any sub-genre... he has put a fantastic progressive spin on many sub-genre's including house, trance and drum & bass. He has breathed a breath of new life into all of these long established styles.

Rarely can you find an artist album that from start to finish is a pleasure to listen to - every song holds up on its own and brings a uniqueness and originality by itself. Really good choice of collaborations and fantastic vocals - especially from the girls!

Congratulations Paul! Can't wait to hear all the remixes that are surely on their way!

4.0 out of 5 stars As close as to the old PVD Aug 19 2012

Trance music and the EDM scene has evolved, so it's hard to expect artists to be able to stay the same after so long. I must admit, I was disappointed by Paul van Dyk's last release (In Between), but I can say this album brings back a lot of elements that make PVD a unique force in the EDM scene.

Standout tracks are The Ocean and Verano; though the PVD Full Fire remix of Verano is much better in my opinion (that remix is not on this album).

I absolutely love Rock This, its a great upbeat track. Lost in Berlin is a memorable track and the closing track Heart Stops Beating is really nicely done. One more thing, PVD's collaboration with Giusseppe Ottaviani for A Wonderful Day is probably the track that I think closest brings back memories of Paul Van Dyk and the EDM scene from early 2000s.

I would recommend this CD, it is a brand new PVD album with the classic PVD still shining throughout the album.

4.0 out of 5 stars nothing like his old stuff but... April 4 2012

there's a reason he called it evolution... he's slowly making the switch from trance to the blurring lines of trance/house=trouse sounds... while not as good as imo as "in between" it's an above avg album... there are still some trance tracks(dae yor stands out) and a mix of both(verano), pvd is still a god in the edm scene, been a fan for over a decade, and seen him live at least once a year everytime he comes to nyc... don't sleep on pvd yet, he's still banging it out.
