Product Description

This Accuratic watch winder will rotate your automatic watch to set direction and set Turns Per Day (TPD) to keep it wound. It has five different TPD settings: 650, 900, 1200, 1500, 1800, with intermediate rest cycles to eliminate potential stress on watch movement. It rotates clockwise counter-clockwise, or alternates in between. The winder will repeat its cycle every day, without intervention (as long as it is on). Functions: TPD: Indicates to number of Turns Per Day, MODE: Indicates to rotation direction, On and Off button. This winder operates with electric power (AC Adapter included), or two C size batteries (not included). How to operate the watch winder • Pull watch holder out of turntable drum. • Wrap your watch around it and place it back. 1. Plug the AC adapter to the wall outlet and the other end to the back of the watch winder. 2. Press TPD button to select desired Turns Per Day 650, 900, 1200, 1500 or 1800 TPD. 3. Press MODE button to select desired rotation direction Clockwise, Counter-Clockwise, or Alternate. 4. Press ON button to turn the watch winder On or Off. Note: when you want to operate the unit with batteries turn the switch to BAT on the back of the unit, it is recommended that you take the batteries out when unit is used with AC power adapter.

"Japanese Mabuchi motor" - made in china Nov. 11 2012

I got two units.

Unit number one works but squeals from day one. True, they give you some WD40 to lube it but were not they supposed to use some before shipping it out?

Unit number two: from the two power jacks (one used for power - labeled "IN" and other used to distribute power to the second unit - labeled "OUT"), the "IN" one does not work - I had to power it through the one labeled "OUT".

Quite high defect rate isn't it? 2 out of 2.

Update: These pieces of rubbish need constant lubrication, at the rate at once a month or so, else the start squealing. As for the power jack issue, one internal connecter was out from the socket...

They got poor quality, they got bad design they got bad execution... who can ask for anything... less? Or something like that :P....

Reliable as a brick and loaded with features Sept. 20 2012

I've purchased several inexpensive winders over the last several years and most don't last longer than a year or two. I consider reliability/longevity to be the most important characteristics in a winder. Secondarily are features such as single and bi-directional (clockwise/counter-clockwise) capability, multiple rotations per day options, back-lit display, expandability, and silent operation.

Simply put this winder is as reliable as a brick and has every feature I've ever heard of. My experience has been that the Japanese motor makes a real difference and is not just marketing blather.

If you have a Rolex set it for 650 rotations per day. For Brietlings or most ETA movements I've heard 1200 is the way to go. In any case there are 5 options available.

I originally bought 2 and just bought 2 more. There are multiple colors available and at times different colors may be more expensive than others, so see what's available at what price.

--Follow up 2/7/2013: One of the winders started squeaking, one drop of the provided wd40 solved that problem but it does seems to be a common complaint. The squeaking comes from a bearing visible from the front of the unit. Still no actual failures in the 4 units I have and they are all running silently now. They have been running daisy chained together off of one power supply for 6 months.

Right on Time Dec 31 2012

This watch winder is fantastic! The motor is very quiet and I would never know it was working if I didn't see it. The part that holds the watch is spring loaded so it will fit any size band, and the unit takes about 30 seconds to setup. My Omega needs to be worn 10-12 hours a day and I had no idea which setting to use, but an e-mail to Accuratic got me the answer within 2 hours. I will definitely buy another one like this if I get another automatic watch, and I have already recommended it to my friends. I have found crappy winders for 3 times as much money.

Ok, you have to wonder how many engines, transmissions and rear ends you need to simply rotate a fairly light object as a watch. I have stood next to roaring internal combustion engines that made less noise. I put a watch into this thing in my gun room next to my bedroom and could clearly hear it at night. Why you would want to expand it to create even louder noise baffles me. Take a pass on this one, apparently you need to spend a lot more for peace and quiet while your watch is being auto wound.
