Jimi Hendrix. This man is a guitar god - no questions asked. Many will call Hendrix the greatest guitar player of all time, and who can blame them? During the sixties and seventies, he shelled out a number of early hard rock masterpieces that have changed rock and roll forever. As with any popular rock star, a number of Hendrix compilations have been released over the years. Read on for my review of this one, Experience Hendrix.
-If you're a casual fan of Jimi Hendrix who doesn't want to shell out the cash for every last one of his studio albums, this compilation makes a fine alternative. Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Fire, Foxey Lady, and all of the other big hits you've come to know and love over the years are here for your listening pleasure.
-In addition to all the big hits, you get several lesser-known gems, like Manic Depression, Crosstown Traffic, and Dolly Dagger. These songs are every bit as good as the big hits are.
-This compilation is readily available in a number of stores.
-The compilation is priced right for a casual fan,
-Unless you're some Hendrix die hard, who thinks certain tracks being omitted hurts the compilation, you're not going to find a whole lot wrong with this set.
What more can I say? Hendrix is a guitar mastermind, and this compilation more than does him justice. No rock and roll collection is complete without Jimi Hendrix. Whether you get a hits compilation like this or all of his albums, if you're a rock and roll fan, you need to get some of his material!
