Good reinforcement

My daughter did books A,B, and C and then book 1 in the Explode the Code Series. She is just finishing up K. When we finished book 1, we started on book 2, but I realized that it might be wiser to take our time and back up to book 1 1/2. I'm glad we did this book. It gave her additional reinforcement. This book adds in additional words similar to those in book 1. I like the whole series and my daughter is practicing her handwriting, learning phonics, practicing her reading comprehension, and learning how to spell all in one program. I think these books are wonderful!

I purchased this book (and the first) for my daughter to complete as a review and preview between K and 1st grades. It never made it past spring break - she loved doing the 'homework' and it was well laid out and paced.

helpful, but harder than expected.

I did this book with my daughter, and while she zoomed through book 1, she found this one to be a bit tedious. It has her putting words of a sentence in order, and reading full sentences. While this is something she CAN do (albeit not as well as the other pages,) it really slows down her pace, and therefore slows her actual phonics practice. I've ended up having her skip certain pages and reading some sentences aloud for her. I honestly think that book 2 will be easier in some ways.
