Awesome Camera Addition,
This review is from: Eye-Fi Pro X2 8 GB SDHC 802.11b/g/n Wireless Flash Memory Card (Accessory)
This card was an awesome addition to my D-SLR. I have dual card slots and write my jpegs to this card and have it set to upload automatically to my computer. It is an integral part of my image back-up plan. The interface is clear and user friendly and the card is truly plug and play. I had no compatibility problems or snafus to work around. The direct connection functionality is awesome as I'm always afraid of losing images while away on vacation where I tend to shoot a lot. Especially in places with little WiFi infrastructure to jump aboard (e.g. Cuba). The direct connect function allows backup to extra storage on a wireless laptop, or, hopefully and iPad soon! In a pinch even my phone can do back-up duty!he only negative I can comment on is that you should be prepared for extra battery usage on your camera during the transfers, so consider purchasing an extra battery so you're always charged. When I showed my wife what this card could do, she insisted on one for her camera too. She got and Explore X2 card as she doesn't shoot RAW images. Kudos Eye-Fi!

How fast?,
By
This review is from: Eye-Fi Pro X2 8 GB SDHC 802.11b/g/n Wireless Flash Memory Card (Accessory)
The big question for me was: How fast the transfer?I did some test and here the result. For a 6 megapixels JPEG (normal compression.) It took between 10 and 25 seconds for the picture to arrive to my laptop. I use a router in between and I will soon test the Ad Hoc transfer that may be faster. I shoot RAW, but transfer only the JPEG to see the result "live".

This review is from: Eye-Fi Pro X2 8 GB SDHC 802.11b/g/n Wireless Flash Memory Card (Accessory)
Before you buy this card check the Eye Fi web site for any issues concerning your camera. My camera is compatible according to the manual that came with the camera and the Eye Fi web site, however there are issues that make transferring photos unreliable. Yes, I can get it to work but not as I hoped. According to the Eye Fi web site they are working with the camera company to resolve the issues. The setup of the card was also more involved than the instructions lead me to believe. I had to get the MAC address for the card and plug that number into my router so I could get my network to accept it to complete the card setup. That part was not in the directions that came with the card and it took some research to find out what had to be done to make the card operational. In the Eye Fi card survey about the ease of the card setup, I told them about the MAC address requirement. Let's hope their setup instructions at least mention this in the future.
