Labeled by PLAY Magazine, GameSpy, GameSpot, 1up.com, and AIAS at D.I.C.E as the most innovative product of 2003, the EyeToy technology has proven to be a must-have largely because of its ability to introduce gamers to an environment that requires no gaming skills or controller. Taking the idea one step further, EyeToy: Groove challenges players to dance along to 28 licensed tracks in the game in order to win points for technique, style, and timing. Groove bonus points are given just for trying, so the more movement the higher the score.
EyeToy: Groove provides gameplay options for everyone. If playing solo, gamers may try out dance moves in One Player Mode, or choose to just interact with on-screen special effects in the Chill Out Room . EyeToy: Groove also includes a number of multi-player options. In Tournament Mode players take turns to determine who has the best rhythm, reaction time and accuracy. Team Sync Mode allows friends to conquer the dance floor together, or go one step further with Battle Sync Mode, which allows players to dance together while being judged separately.
In addition to the game modes, EyeToy: Groove features a Dance Move Maker option that enables players to be their own choreographer by creating a custom routine to the song of their choice. Simply pick a song, record movements as it plays, and at the end of the tune, import the routine into the solo groove mode in place of a difficulty level.
The popular Video Message feature from EyeToy: Play returns, allowing consumers to record personal messages onto separately sold 8MB PS2 Memory Cards (8MB)(PlayStation 2), sold separately. Messages are also interchangeable; video messages created in EyeToy: Groove can be viewed with EyeToy: Play and vice versa. The Memory Card may also be used to save and replay photos and videos automatically captured while playing the various game modes. As the EyeToy experience is all about movement, players looking to get a little exercise can take advantage of the Calorie Counter by simply entering in their weight, then watching how many calories can be danced away.

Super fun AND great exercise!!,

Eye Toy: Groove is incredibly fun! I was skeptical about how the gameplay would work until I tried it out at Best Buy and then I was SOLD! The technology is amazing, it really picks up movement well. You don't have to be able to dance in order to play, just be willing to flail your arms around like a fool. Multiple modes of play means it doesn't get too boring (although the song selection is somewhat limited - hopefully Groove 2 will be forthcoming). The songs are fun, though, not as good as Amplitude but much better than DDR. Once you get into it you can really get a great workout! Our arms and shoulders were very sore the next day, as well as our legs just from bopping to the beat. Our only objection so far is that it seems you must enter your name after every single time you play. Since no controller is involved, you have to enter your name by waving your hands around and selecting the letters. For some reason these targets seem less sensitive, so entering your name wears you out at least as fast as actually playing. We just got the game yesterday, so perhaps we'll figure out a way around this as we keep going.

The day Eyetoy: Groove came out I bought it! It requires hitting, waving, swiping and a lot of movment! It even has a calorie counter so you can see how many calories you have burnt! Also TWO people can dance at the SAME TIME! Here is a tip for all Eye Toy players: when it tells you what to do in the beginning push start on the controller and it will skip it!

Man let me tell you how good I am at this game. I suck at DDR but man oh man I can really tear through this one like tissue paper...WORD! If you've played EyeToy Play, Groove is pretty much the beats game in it with the cds and the speakers. Its a lot harder though cause the make you do different motion other than fist fist fist fist (you guys know what I'm talking about) It got REAL SONGS and most of them are REALLY BAD SONGS!!!! I just wish there were more modes to this game, its kinda all the same. But I'm gonna go practice and the try out for the next Wade Robson Project.
