Product Description

Alan Parsons Project's Eye in the Sky was almost guaranteed at least moderate success due to the hits that preceded it ("Games People Play" and "Time" from Turn of a Friendly Card.) With Eye, Parsons returned in some ways to his more progressive, art-rock past and the album only had one major hit, the lush title track. Parsons's approach was a synthesis of studio wizardry with a symphonic, spacey interplay between keyboards, synthesizerss and basic rock instrumentation. Though never a hit, "Psychobabble" remains a favorite of fans. "Children of the Moon," "Sirius," and "Gemini" all have Parsons's love of the esoteric. "Mammagamma" also allowed Parsons to fully indulge his fondness for orchestration with its instrumental structure. --Steve Gdula

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality production Jun 25 2012

I have to say I didn't know too much about these guys until recently when I kept hearing about irobot on several audiophile lists. I have to say if you like excellent production and the sound of analog keyboards then you will love these guys. Remasters sound great. This is definitely the more pop side of APP but a nice recording nonetheless. I am definitely a fan.

2.0 out of 5 stars This isn't "Eye in the Sky"!!! Feb 28 2003
By Steven
Format:Audio CD
This isn't the real "Eye in the Sky" album! It's a ... "Best of" without any real graphics or liner notes. (I haven't opened it, since it's going back, so I could be wrong, but I doubt it. There is a picture of AP himself, sitting on a chair, on the cover.)

What this CD says that it has on it is:

- Eye in the Sky
- Time
- Damned If I Do
- Standing On Higher Ground
- Mammagamma
- Psychobabble
- Games People Play
- Stereotonomy (That's how they spelled it - i gess that they don't have a profreeder)
- Sirius
- Snake Eyes

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the finest of APP Sep 9 2009
By Gis A. Bun TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
This album, when it first came out may still be considered the finest of APP albums. It was actually the first APP album to be recordered, mixed and mastered completely digitally. Of course it had the hugely successful title track plus Psychobabble and my favorite You're Gonna Get Your Fingers Burned - probably one of theirt hardest tracks recorded.

This release adds 6 demos and other tracks at various stages. All unreleased. As usual, like the other remasters, each APP remster has lengthy liner notes, additional photos, album/single covers, etc.

I was actually expecting maybe a "deluxe" edition, if there was enough material. But since Alan Parsons didn't tour until years later, that leaves only demos, the odd unreleased track and snippets of unfinished tracks. Not really enough for 2CDs.
