5.0 out of 5 stars She does it again! Jun 23 2012
Format:Audio CD
Sarah McLachlan is so talented one can't create any new euphonisms to describe her anymore. This CD is Sarah as always at her best. While this CD is great beyond words she has so many great CD's I now no longer categorize them as "the best" because quite frankly ALL her CD's ARE THE BEST!

While all the songs on this CD are amazing my favorite songs are:

Elsewhere: One of the best songs I think ever written lyrically. Her voice & also her background vocalist sound so luscious on it. I still have this song on my favorite playlist since this CD first came out; it's that good!

Ice: This is my favorite song of Sarah's, even still. The acoustical guitar work is exceptional and her songwriting on this track is beyond words...she makes it seem so effortless...all crafted together so magnificently. Loved the bongo drums, percussion, horns in their subtlety...weaving in & out at just the right sweet spots. I still have this on my favorite Mp3 playlist; it will never be removed!

Wait:Beautiful song....she does this song so good live! I've seen her so much they should just put her on the Toronto Stock Exchange! Ha! Ha! No doubt there is something in the water here in Canada that produces such great talent like hers!

Ice Cream: Such a cute song....shows her softer, fun side!

All the tracks are great even though I just critiqued a few....they are all exceptional!

Compared to its population, Canada is blessed with a disproportionate great number of talented performance artists - and Sarah McLachlan is one of the best examples.
Maybe they are inspired by the endless expanses of the Great North and the blandness of the Toronto sprawl; maybe it is the eternal adolescence of the Canadian psyche or the freshly disillusioned naiveté of a nation of great poets and dreamers bordering a militaristic giant. Who knows...

Sarah McLachlan is a GREAT SINGER. And this is her BEST ALBUM! I have FUMBLING TOWARDS ECSTASY (together with all her albums) since my university years - God bless the DUE SOUTH TV Series that exposed me to her absolutely haunting voice! I have been playing it numerous times over the years, one could not get tired of this collection. The pieces are all gems, from start to finish! The music speaks directly to the soul, such poetic lyrics are so hard to find anymore and Sarah's voice will haunt you forever...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I think Sarah McLachlan made her best in Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, where one can find 13 wonderful songs that makes one believe in life. With style, calm and her great voice, Sarah looks into her soul to bring her feelings out and express them like only she knows how to do.
I've listened this record hundreds of times and it still feels like the first time.
