Product Description

Social networking, on-demand programming, and media streaming have changed the way couples and kids relate, react and worship. Can we keep daily family devotionals in “our” loop? Faith and FAMILY: A Devotional Pathway for Families brings mom and dad, sister and brother together for a small dose of God’s Word and wisdom.

Each devotion includes a story or situation dealing with a contemporary issue, forcing families to think and discuss how they would react to a particular situation. Questions are included at the conclusion of each devotion to help spur discussion and encourage families to pray together. These short slices of personal testimony offer instant inspiration and thoughtful reflection, making this book the perfect “addition” to any family.

I have enjoyed using this devotional. I did not use it with my family but just as a personal devotional book. It would be a great book for a family because the questions at the end of each devotional could really create great discussions.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEVOTIONS AS A FAMILY Jan. 4 2012

As a contributing author to this compilation of stories which relate to scriptural lessons, I felt it important to share why I sought publication in this book. For many years I've struggled to find real, heart felt devotions that accurately depicted a life lived for Christ that I could share with my family at the dinner table or during breakfast. This book accomplishes that goal. It creates word pictures, giving visuals to the family which yield teaching moments. Draw closer to God and as a family by purchasing your copy today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Devotions for real people, from real people. Jan. 5 2012

Real stories, from real people, for real people. I'm a contributor to this book, and that concept of real stories is what drew me to help with it. Stories and lessons from the lives of real people as they grow as Christians. Here are situations from all walks of life, and accounts from the spiritual front lines as families struggle, learn, and grow in their Christian lives.

Excellent book for families looking for learning devotions, written by people just like them.

This devotional book will be Christmas gifts to my daughters who have small children. As a grandparent, I wanted to give a gift that would help to saturate my grandchildren with the Word in a fun and quick way just before leaving for school, or during the family devotional time in the evening. The "Family Talk" poses questions to ask the children in another way - "how was your day" or "what is on your mind" as they consider the devotional lesson. The devotional stories provides plenty of opportunity to highlight a moral of the story, or a lesson linked to it. I loved the humor that was on the children's level. For example, the knock-knock jokes. I'm sure all 4 grandchildren, ages 5-10, will try them out on unsuspecting teachers, parents and friends and completely enjoy doing so. The devotional is one of the most user friendly I have come across, and well worth the purchase!

Some of us are step-parents and some of us have step-parents. Are there step-parents in the Bible? I believe Joseph is. He married Mary, the mother of Jesus, but wasn't the father of Jesus. Yet, Joseph followed through on his responsibilities.

I wrote the devotion in honor of men who step up to be great step-dads. What a hard job and what unique and special men God gives the job to!

Thank you to all step-parents who are working hard at being parents to the children God has placed in your life.

I really enjoyed this devotional it is for a family and touches on how much things have changed with the media world and all the electronics and how we cope and keep up --I can't think of a better book to use not only with a family growing up but would be great in a young Bible Study class to don't pass this one up its worth the read. I happen to be older and my family is grown but got it to read to help understand what my Grandkids are dealing with and there challanges.
