Product Description

Based on the inspiring story of Angus Buchan, a Zambian farmer of Scottish heritage, who leaves his farm in the midst of political unrest and travels south with his family to start a better life in South Africa. With nothing more than a caravan on a patch of land and help from his Zulu foreman, the Buchan family struggles to settle in a new country.

Faced with ever-mounting challenges, hardships and personal turmoil within the South African countryside, Angus quickly spirals down into a life consumed by anger, fear and destruction.

Adapted from the best-selling autobiography Faith Like Potatoes, this inspirational film weaves together the moving journey of a man who, like his potatoes, grows his faith - unseen until the harvest.

Faith Like Potatoes is one of the top 5 grossing domestic theatrical releases in South African history.

Approximate total running time is 1 hour, 55 minutes.

Rated PG for thematic elements.

I think the best thing about this show is that its based on a true story. It shows how God will come though for those who trust him. The DVD special features are good as you can see the actual people involved in the story. I would highly recommend this DVD.

I have had this product for several months, now. It has been such a great inspirational movie, we have ordered several other copies and given them away as gifts. We have also loaned our copy out to numerous other people as well. Each person who has seen this movie has given us great reviews also. "Faith Like Potatoes" is just like Hebrews 11:1. Faith is built not by what is seen, but what is not seen. God is pleased with our faith (Hebrews 11:6). "Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must first believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Matthew 6:33 "Seek first the Kingdom of God and ALL these things will be added unto you."

This movie is an honest and moving account of a man on a journey.
He is portrayed as someone with struggles and also as an overcomer.
I recommend this movie for everyone! Faith Like Potatoes

I loved the part when one of the lead workers on the main character's farm asked why white people in Africa seem to think they can have one foot in Africa and the other in a European nation (like Scotland). His explanation that his heritage can't be changed and he is still proud of it, but that Africa is his home and he feels God has placed him there for a purpose. However, I was a little disappointed that, for a true story, it seemed a little unrealistic. The conversion was too sudden. I suggest the addition of a simple date at the bottom of the screen to show how much time there was between his conversation with the pastor and the prayer for peace and potato farms in the stadium. Everything else was excellent. A very well done movie just like the rest by this company.

This was a great movie which I watched with my whole family. It's always more inspiring when the story is based on a true one. This film also made watching the MMC 2010 DVDs (which I've just started) even more exciting. :) Both are challenging, encouraging, faith-building.
