The story is exciting and contains just the right amount of detection for the reader to do. Daily Telegraph A thrilling mystery to read and the children are very sympathetic and believable. The book also tackles the larger, and currently popular, theme of man's exploitation of nature, whether falcon or battery hen. Momentum is maintained throughout the book, even when it is making a serious point about intensive farming. Carousel Children will like this story -- there is some discussion of environmental and other issues, but chiefly it will be appreciated for its action, pace, suspense and drama. The authors have created adventure stories with meaningful plots and plausible characters which allow the young reader familiar with the series the satisfaction of being able to predict the action. About the Author
Andrew Fusek Peters is an Anglo-Czech author. His family fled the country in 1948 as the Communist Coup was taking place and came to Britain. He is the tallest poet in Britain, plays the didgeridoo and performs his poetry live at festivals. He and his wife Polly have written 30 books and their poems have appeared in 35 anthologies. Their novel Crash was nominated for the Carnegie Medal and shortlisted for the North East Book Award. They live with their two children in Shropshire.
