4.0 out of 5 stars Nice melodic punk-pop July 8 2004
Format:Audio CD
Let's see, upper sandusky ohio is such a punk capitol that I'm not sure if I should even bother with this review (sarcasm intended). These girls are making a great attempt to make it in a world of Britney and the Boy Bands that won't shut up and die. So take a good hard listen at the maturity and vocals (bordering closely on being powerful). This burgeoning band needs all the consideration they can get. Not some wanna-be punk 'expert' nitpicking over the placement of this group into 'his' niche.Let's spend more time listening to the music and supporting these girls and less time fighting over meaningless titles. Yeah, they're kinda punky, Yeah, they're definitely poppy, but these girls are all heart.
Personally, I love "Dirty Sunshine" The lyrics are in dramatic contrast to the upbeat rhythms jarring you and sucking you in at the same time. I gave them 4 stars because I'm reserving 5 for their sophmore attempt as they will hopefully matured into the power group they have the potential to be. Enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Talented (somewhat) yet confused April 9 2004
Format:Audio CD
Their Sound/Their Music-Words like rocker chick, poser, lyrically challenged, no talent, and true talent are used to describe Lillix. I personally feel they have minor vocal ability, talent in the songwriting area, (though it's nothing groundbreaking; we've heard it before, expressed differently) and do pop music with rock instrumentation for emphasis.
Best Songs-
2)Quicksand-I have no idea where they get the idea this song should be titled Quicksand, as they mention the word possibly twice in the whole song, but the beat is rather interesting, the echo adds mystery to the song, and the lyrics are hypnotic in the sense that, at least for me, I wanted to listen to the whole song instead of skipping when it started to get boring.
4)Dirty Sunshine-This is a good song to play when you're in a bad mood and angry at the world. Basically, it's about a girl who is angry at herself and almost enjoys it, then gets even angrier when somebody tries to distract her from her mood. The vocals for this song are actually pretty good, (they don't sound like they have to gulp every four seconds to get through the song) though their attempt at screaming falls flat.
5)Sick-Unlike the title would suggest, this is an upbbeat song. The idea behind this song is a bad boyfriend (I believe he is controlling, though the song doesn't come out anbd say) who is finally "dumped" and the girl becomes stronger with him gone.
8)Because-This song has a peppy beat, making it a "party" song, WHICH makes it on my list of best songs, but be forewarned; the lyrics contain a high level of immaturity and blame. The idea for this song is friends (who most likely will become ex friends) getting into a fight over their differences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Feb. 17 2004
By Lucia
Format:Audio CD
Falling Uphill is the debut album of the Canadian band Lillix. It has great background music and vocals but don't expect great lyrics. This is the review of each song:
Tomorrow: This one has good lyrics. Ok, they rhyme "wake up" with "make up" but it is not that bad. The vocals are great.
Quicksand: The fans' favorite. The bridge is great. The lyrics and vocals are not totally great but the background is really good and it makes Quicksand the best song of the album.
It's About Time: When you first listen to it, you will love it but then you'll get bored. The song has a good idea and it is great that all Lacey-Lee, Tasha-Ray and Loiuse sing in this song.
Dirty Sunshine: *My personal favorite* Great Background music, vocals and arrangement in general. This one is more rock than the others.
Sick: It will be stuck in your head a long time. It is one of those songs that you really like the first time you listen to it.
Invisible: It may not start very good and the lyrics may confuse at first but then you get the idea and the guitar solo in the bridge is totally great and catchy.
24/7: The lyrics are not the best thing, in fact, they confuse me. But maybe that is just me. But the background music is good and the vocals are great.
Because: The lyrics are not very good but, again, the background music is really good. The bad thing is that it is too short.
Promises: A great slow song. The vocals are great and the chorus is catchy.
Fork In The Road: I don't get the fork in the road thingy but it is still a great song. The prechorus is really catchy. The music is very good.
Lost and Confused: It is one of the songs with the best lyrics in the album. The chorus is catchy and the bridge is nice.
What I Like About You: This one is a cover of an 80's song and the theme song of the famous TV show with the same name. Very catchy.
