4.0 out of 5 stars Very good CD, but still not as good as AQUARIUM Sept. 14 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
There are only 4 songs(songs: 9, 10, 11, 12) on this CD that I only heard one time and don't like them and skip them every time I listen to the CD thereafter.
That's the reason I give it 4 stars, but please note, this is a very good CD, I mean compare to other CDs I have there usually are only 3 or 4 songs on them that I like the rest are just crap, but on this 12 song CD, I like all the rest 8 songs!
People often say Toy-Box's music is very similar to AQUAs, and I have to agree, comparing to AQUA's debut CD AQUARIUM which I gave 5 stars(the only song I didn't like was "heat of the night" and I like the rest 11 songs, include bonus track "Didn't I"), Toy-Box's FanTastic is a little bit shy of 5 stars rating.
Anyway, but this Toy-Box's CD is better than Aqua's 2nd album "AQUARIUS", my thought is some groups made their debut album so good, so that their follow up albums often can't top their debut album, AQUA is perfect example, other groups that come to my mind right away is Ace of Base, in that case, their 2nd, 3rd, never achived the level that their debut albumt "The Sign" did.
I heard Toy-Box has a 2nd album coming up, hopefully, it won't be disappointing like AQUA's 2nd album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Continuing the proud tradition of AQUA... Sept. 12 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I am huge AQUA fan ever since the very beginning, and the truth is AQUA was the only Danish pop/dance group I knew. If you are an AQUA fan too, you must know that according to the office web site, AQUA is taking a BREAK from make music now. Or dare I say, they won't be back...
Anyway, I was very sad about that fact, still life goes on. A quick research turned out that Toy-Box is also a Danish pop/dance group, and after I got the CD "FanTastic", I was shocked, I can't believe my ears, this is pur AQUA music. Whether you agree or not, I am telling the truch...
About this album, all I can say is: it doesn't reach the same level as high as AQUA's debut album "AQUARIUM", but it is far better than AQUA's 2nd album "AQUARIUS" that I know for sure, I believe many AQUA fans just like me are a little disappointed in "AQUARIUS"...
Now about every track on this CD:
1. good intro but kind of silly (1 star)
2. fits AQUA's music video "My Oh My" (3 stars)
3. my 2nd favorite song on this CD, yummy yummy! (5 stars)
4. reminds me of Barbie and Ken from "Barbie Girl" (5 stars)
5. Star Trek The Next Generation rule, E.T. sucks (4 stars)
6. 1 of the worst song on CD (0 star)
7. I love the way Anila say "super-duper-man" (4 stars)
8. constant speed song never sounded this good (3 stars)
9. Okay, count me in, I am the "5th element" (2 stars)
10.I don't like the rap part... sorry, not my taste (0 star)
11.Soory, no habla espaniel (1 star)
12.Sorry, again I said no habla espaniel (1 star)
13.very cool song, cool Japanese style ending. (5 stars)
Again, I don't like songs with rap and spanish mixed it, I think Euro dance music should be as pure as possible, music or material from other kind of music shoul not be present in europop/dance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toy-Box Fantastic July 18 2000
By Richard
Format:Audio CD
Well we have Toy-Box to follow in the footsteps of where Aquarium left off. FanTastic captures all the metaphors, nonsense lyrics, and great beats that once was Aqua. I kept playing this album 'til it became seriously messed up, and I couldn't even see the video or play the game anymore. The videos are for Tarzan & Jane and Best Friend. The game (Space Trap) is really obsessive. It's similar to the old Donkey Kong games where you rescued the princess at the top of the ladders. Hopefully Toy-Box keeps this music style in upcoming albums. This is a definite recommendation for the Europop fans. 1. Toy Box Pictures Presents - Talk about dramatic. Cool intro. You can see they're going all Apollo. 2. The Sailor-Song - Lovin' the background beats. Can't disagree with the lyrics. Excellent song. 3. Best Friend - #1. Without a doubt, this is Europop at its best. Completely pointless, nonsense lyrics and you'll be wondering why you're listening to it. Then you realize this song is just plain fun and I know you'll like it. 4. Tarzan & Jane - The video for this is what made me notice Toy-Box in the first place. Great song. 5. E.T. - This song scared me away from Toy-Box temporarily. Some person said it reminded them of Yankee Doodle. True, but also... Well I thought of Barney (the dinosaur) first and that is scary! Once I got over my fright, I heard this song in full and found it to be pretty good. 6. Teddybear - First slow song of Toy-Box's. I like it, mostly because of the lyrics. "Kiss me here and kiss me there (Oh yea)...." ;-) 7. Super-Duper Man - Cool start up music. The lyrics are nothing to get excited over. Then again.... Beware of the sexual metaphors. Great song. 8. I Believe In You - Not exactly slow. Not exactly fast. Read more ›

5.0 out of 5 stars FanTastic=Aquarium? July 7 2000

Who knows? Maybe Aqua really did influence Toy-Box. But as it is, Aqua lost some of their silly ways when they came out with their new album (Just hear the title track Aquarius). Well we've got Toy-Box to follow in the footsteps of where Aquarium left off. FanTastic captures all the metaphors, nonsense lyrics, and great beats that once was Aqua. I played this album 'til it became seriously messed up, and I couldn't even see the video or play the game anymore. Had to get me a new copy. The videos are for Tarzan & Jane and Best Friend. The game (Space Trap) is obsessive. It's similar to the old Donkey Kong games where you rescued the princess at the top of the ladders. Hopefully Toy-Box keeps this music style in upcoming albums. This is a definite recommendation for the Europop fans.

1. Toy Box Pictures Presents - Here's Toy-Box establishing their trademark space-themed sound. This track's mostly narration. Very Appolo.
2. The Sailor-Song - The lyrics are irresistible. ;) The start up music is great with a real thunderstorm background. Killer beats make it a great dance song too.
3. Best Friend - Without a doubt this is Europop at its best. On your first listen you'd think, "What is this?!" The lyrics are outrageous, 'specially in the chorus. The beats are great again, and the "clap, clap" used adds their own pace to it.
4. Tarzan & Jane - The video for this is what made me first notice Toy-Box. In '99 I was sitting on my couch when it came on The Box. The Oo-ee-oo-ee...'s MAKE this song. It adds an almost tribal feel to the whole track.
5. E.T. - This song scared me away from Toy-Box temporarily. Some person said it reminded them of Yankee Doodle. True but also...Barney (the dinosaur). Once I got over my fright I heard it in full and found it to be good though.

1.0 out of 5 stars I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS NEGATIVE STARS.
All I have to say, is AQUA [is really bad]. It's over. Aqua set it up, and then here comes Treasure Chest, or whatever trying to [take] what Aqua made. Can you say [really bad]? Read more
