5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Anyone on the Journey to Size Acceptance, Jun 8 2009
By T. L. Weitze "Tante Terri" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Fat Poets Speak: Voices of the Fat Poets' Society (Paperback)
I'm not usually a huge fan of poetry, but this book is a treasure and a joy. No matter where you are personally on your journey to size acceptance, the beautiful poems in this book will resonate with you. If you are just starting out - you'll see the journey ahead of you and the joys of learnign to love and accept yourself; and if you're already there, you'll recognize the pain and joy of the struggle you have passed through. A big plus is each poet's auto-bio in the back. Talented women, looking at being fat from their different viewpoints.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic, wonderful, empowering work, Sep 25 2010
By L. J. Owen - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Fat Poets Speak: Voices of the Fat Poets' Society (Paperback)
I cannot praise this book highly enough. It takes on a topic that so many shy away from and not only tackles it, but uses corporeal aspects, large and small, to help us remember that we are worthy, and beautiful, and worth celebrating, and not in spite of our bodies, but because of them. This book will make you laugh, and rage, and cry, and ponder, and you will smile when you finally close the cover. And the words you've let in will haunt you.

This book is a keeper - and one you'll read again and again and again.
