Quite Enjoyable! Aug. 5 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I thought that this book was both quirky and fun. There was no real conflict to contrast the love story. The entire book is dedicated to their budding romance, and I thought that the author did an excellent job of holding my attention.
Of course Del's character was well written, because I could feel exactly what he felt. What I also loved was that for once, the male character came clean with their feelings. It was not a story of the man trying to keep his feelings bottled up; afraid of giving in and losing his composure. Del's character did not play games. That was quite refreshing. Great Job.
Having been let down and abandoned all her life, she found it hard to believe in miracles. Dec 19 2014

A story that starts off in a spectacular way and keeps you turning the pages.
Del couldn't believe the van was racing down the highway dodging from lane to lane at a high rate of speed without looking in their mirror. As a motorcycle cop, he took off in pursuit. When he finally got the van pulled over, he was shocked at what he discovered.
Melissa was in full labor when the cop finally got her to pull over. There was no one to help her. She was alone. Del needed to call for assistance, but she wouldn't let go of him.
Del was from a strong, loving Italian family. They stuck by each other. They supported one another. They picked on one another. When someone needed help...you helped them. Melissa was wearing a wedding ring, but Del could not figure out why her husband wasn't there for her. When she told him she was alone, he couldn't believe it. Prying information out of her was almost impossible. He managed to find out that she knew no one, had no place to go, and little money. He opened his heart and his house to her.
Melissa had been abandoned and let down so many times by the people in her lives that she found it very hard to believe that there were good people in the world...and Del was too good to be true.
Del wanted nothing more than to keep her forever, but she needed to trust him. That would take time. Problem was, he was falling more and more in love with her every day. It was getting harder and harder to give her the space she needed. He loved that baby as his own. He wanted them both.
A heart tugging and very emotional story of support, unconditional family love, and a determination to make things right. For any romance lover. I am very happy I took the time to read it.
