A Spiritually Uplifting Experience. April 26 2002
By john mccullough - Published on
Format: Paperback
This is a story about a humble man of God who has been given the gift of healing. True to form, he takes no credit for the very many people whose lives he has changed both physically and spiritually. Everything is credited to God. Father Rookey's love of God shines through in the interviews conducted by the author, Heather Parsons. This simple priest fasts and prays for long periods each day in preparation for the demands placed upon him by his ministry. My faith has been rejuvenated by this book. The wonderful stories of people whose lives have been touched by God are inspirational. Father Rookey's 'Miracle Prayer' is included in the book. Say this prayer every day and God will touch your life!

After attending a healing mass for someone I then read Ms. Parson's book about Fr. Peter. I want to attend another mass! Deeply moving, inspirational and up-lifting. I need a copy of my own! Help, it's out of print!

Inspirational reading. Aug. 3 2010

Father Peter Mary Rookey's book is very inspiring, and easy to read. I was disappointed when I finished reading it. People of any age and religion would enjoy the book.
Written by a skeptic who became a believer. Fabulous! Aug. 14 2012

This book was written by a reporter who was originally a total skeptic about the healing ministry of Father Peter Mary Rookey. She found out that miracles happen today, much like they did over 2000 years ago. Father Peter talks to people of all faiths. He used to travel all around the world, but he is in his 90's now, and his superiors have ordered him to stay in Chicago and take phone calls, faxes, and letters. Father is a humble man, and quick to point out that he just says the words and Christ does the healing, if it is His will. But, Father Rookey does more than say the words. He prays multiple rosaries every day, the Chaplet of divine mercy, says mass and spends quite a few hours on the telephone talking to people in need.
He also only eats one meal a day, and that is the last meal of the day. Of course, this is only what he will admit, and I am sure he only offers these facts as an example of how one should make sacrifices for others in need. It is a fascinating book.

inspirational, real life accounts of a priest and the people he has prayed with and who have been healed by God. Father Rookeys humility and sense of humour make this a joy to read. Heather Parsons is a beautiful writer who makes this encounter with Father Rookey very personal like you are there chatting with him.
