5.0 out of 5 stars A good laugh Oct 6 2011
I remember when the Father Ted series first ran on BBC and how much I enjoyed every episode. This collection has them all. The characters are hilarious and the situations even funnier. The main cast is made up of Father Ted, Father Jack, Father Dougal and a housekeeper, Mrs. Doyle. A take off on certain movies happen in some episodes. For instance "Speed" but instead of a bus, it's a milk cart than can't do more than 5 km/hr. A half hour of hilarity ensues. Some may have a little difficulty getting used to the Irish accents but it's worth the effort. I still can't imagine that there are so many priests living on such a small island. LOL. Really worth the money - you can watch them over and over and entertain your friends and family too.

5.0 out of 5 stars "There's cocaine in it Father!" May 6 2011
When this first came out on Channel 4, I (Unfairly) didn't watch it due to my own unresearched conclusion that it was some sort of Fly - on - the - wall show about priests. OMG how wrong I was! When the second series was aired I accidently "bumped into" the episode with the Irish dancing in the camper. I cried!! I still howl at the shenanigans on Craggy Island on an almost nightly basis. Don't take my word for it.. watch it!
Ted: "I want people to listen to me"
Dougal "Well the parishioners listen to you, Ted"
Ted: " No, I mean People I Respect" !!
Feckin' priceless!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally irreverant comedy - love it! April 15 2011

Father Ted is about three priests who live together on a bleak island in Ireland. He has been sent there after a questionable accounting transaction (inferred that he committed some sort of financial fraud and now he has been given perhaps the worst parish as a punishment). The older priest is Father Jack, a grizzled drunk who will drink Toilet Duck if nothing else is available, and Father Dougal who is innocent and clueless (if you have kids, they will love Dougal). Rounding out the group is Mrs. Doyle, the insistent housekeeper. The humour is sharp and crazy, and the acting is first rate. My son howls with laughter at this show - I would sometimes be concerned and the language - for me 'fec' sounds a little too much like the f-bomb. That aside, I have yet to meet someone who did not find this show hilarious. The collection is pretty consistent, none of the dropping off in quality that you sometimes get in series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Father Ted is awesome
Hilarious - some the best of English TV comedy. Gotta wonder sometimes how they got away with all of that!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont get this!
What a disappointment! After all the reviews on how hilarious it was, it fell far short. If one finds it hilarious to mock God and the Catholic faith then perhaps they might find... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars What do you say to a Father Ted Dvd, Father Jack?
If you don't know the answer then "F..k off!" Buy the series if you can handle the satire and language. It is a blast. I love it, but the wife finds it gross. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars That's the great thing about Catholicism. It's so vague and no one...
Once upon a time, on an Irish island so small that it didn't appear on the maps, there lived these three priests... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Seen them all and would buy this if I could afford it!!
I'm not sure about family fun for younger kids unless you mind the odd innocent swearword. I never saw the show Father Ted until I went to the UK, it's hilarious fun loving stuff. Read more
