I must own half the cookbooks from the Food Network Chefs and have probably made a dozen recipes from all of the books combined. I've owned Gwyneth's book for less than 48 hours and I've already made the slow-roasted tomatoes, her dijon vinagrette salad dressing, tomato-mozzarella crostini, teriyaki salmon, and fried brown rice. Delicious, and my 4 year old ate it up. She has a lot of tips in there about cooking with kids, how to change a recipe in the end to make it more palatable for kids, and she's right. It works. Her recipes are stuff I already eat but she makes them so much more healthy. She's honest about the way she eats, and why she cooks, and her introduction is heartwarming. I started just flipping through the book and couldn't put it down. She's not who I thought she was! I can't wait for another cookbook from her... in the meantime I will devour this one.

This book has allot of really healthy recipes in it. Gwyneth Paltrow writes about why she eats the way she does and the recipes call for organic or health conscience ingredients. What I really love though about this book is that; although she is into super healthy and organic food products, she has provided a chart indicating what you can substitute for ingredients (such as duck bacon) which may not be readily available to you in the supermarket, but will also work in her recipe.

This was recommended to me and I'm not using it at all. It seems to be a style of cooking that requires more time than I have available and the type of recipes are not the sort of food we would normally eat week to week.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book after reading the mixed reviews. But I am really happy I bought this book! The recipes are simple and use ingredients that you can easily find in a health food store. I've made many recipes from this book and each one has been delicious. I especially love the section of vinaigrettes that give me a bunch of options that I can whip up at the last minute if I need to (most of them use ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen). Highly recommended!

I've only had this book a few days and I've made 3 recipes so far - all of them have been fabulous! The pizza was the best I've ever made (I don't have a wood burning pizza oven in my back yard so I used my pizza stone in my oven), Blythe's Blueberry Muffins were also the best ever and the Miso Salad Dressing I've been using every day it's so delicious! I can't wait to try her other dressings as well as the soups...they all look so yummy!

I don't think it's fair to write a review for a cookbook without first trying out some of the recipes. I've made the Slow Roasted Tomatoes, yummy but time consuming, the Vegetarian Chili, really flat tasting so I added some of my on spices to it and LaLo's Famous Cookies, not bad but I think I should have had more jam in them and underbaked them slightly. These cookies get extra points because they are vegan.

I liked that the book had different types of recipes and offered up ways to make certain recipes vegetarian/vegan. I liked the various stories in the book and to be fair I don't feel liked I've tried enough recipes to recommend it but if you're a fan of Gwyneth then you will enjoy her stories and certainly give the recipes a try for yourself.

Gweneth Paltrow's cookbook is simple and straight-forward. Her brisket recipe, which seems to be a collection of several brisket recipes, turned out to be fantastic! My Mom would be smiling!
