From the Actor
As a teacher, I felt it was easiest to teach the faux painting process by doing the filming myself. The challenge was making sure the instruction was interesting. I spent a great deal of time reviewing each scene and making certain the processes were shown clearly and that there were constant changes with the camera angles. Actually it was easier to do this myself verses having to tell a cameraperson what to focus on. Another challenge was filming wet paint and avoiding glare along with finishing each process under intense lighting. I worked extremely hard to create these instructional tapes in a relaxed manner that would teach while being entertaining. I also wanted it to be clear to the audience that I do this for a living verses being an actor with a script.
