4.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Idea Done Well May 24 2005
By R. Cunningham - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
I really enjoyed this movie, as soon as it started I realized I would. While watching Romero's trilogy I always love the news scenes, as things start to fall apart and the media struggles to remain calm - and I wished it were expanded upon. Well, here it is, and it was very entertaining.

Dripping in sarcasm, at first the film seemed a little too cheesy and the performances too over-the-top for me, but as it went on my opinion changed. I can really see my friends and I behaving in that bizarre a manner in that situation. In fact, the exaggerated manner of the film worked to keep me guessing as to whether this was a serious zombie flick or a parody. I think the former, but that's my opinion.

Shades of "Stacy" were visible in Feeding the Masses, maybe. It could be an homage, some inspiration or just coincidence, but either way it was the flavor of funny I don't mind in my horror flicks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Feeding the Masses: Zombie Film as Social Satire Nov 1 2005
By Eddie Whitlock - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
Do you want to be scared? I mean REALLY scared?

Then get a different movie. This one is NOT scary.

On the other hand, if you're like me and you just love zombies and you have to see every freakin' flick that features the walking dead, this one ain't bad!

Set in Providence, Rhode Island, the film follows Torch, a camera man for a tv news show there.

The Zombie Holocaust is upon us, but the "man" doesn't want to talk about it! And so, the tv station, under the watchful eye of military observers, happily reports that things are getting better. Keep shopping! is the creed.

There's a great scene in which the weather guy reports there's increased zombie activity in Zone 2, so folks there can "stay home tomorrow and enjoy this beautiful weather!"

The acting is mixed. The quality of the video is medium. The plotline is pretty good, though. It's worth the time and money. Speaking of time, the box says the film is 2.5 hours. It's actually more like 90 minutes max.

If you like your horror with a strong dash of political satire (and if you're a Romero fan, you gotta), check out FEEDING THE MASSES.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 stars for the idea ! Aug 18 2005

I am a big fan of low-budget zombie/horror films & i don't think "FEEDING THE MASSES" is a total flop, but i do think that these guys could have tried alot harder to make this great idea come to life! Between the sad sad make-up & efx & the ultra crappy acting you would think that there would have been enough gore to save it,but no! The only thing good about this movie is the concept/idea & even that isn't worth the money i spent on it! If you can find it for under $10 dollars its worthy to be in your low-budget zombie collection.
