5.0 out of 5 stars Great Piece of FAn Fiction, Dec 24 2003

This review is from: Felicity: Summer (Paperback)
I know that most people don't really care for this book, but I love it. I read this book in the course of one day (pretty good for me), and i enjoyed every moment of it. The story contradicts the series storyline, but it is still a good look into the mind of Felicity Porter. The other thing i like about this book is that the author really knew how to embody Felicity, and it seemed like i was reading the script to a couple of episodes, not a book. This is a must for any fan (espcailly thoughs around 16, 17 years of age).

2.0 out of 5 stars Only summer, Jan 16 2000
This review is from: Felicity: Summer (Paperback)
Seems the writer didn't watch the premier of Felicity and guessed wrong on who she chose. Well, aside from that, the whole book is a piece of junk. Felicity doesn't sound like the Felicity on TV like many other reviewers wrote. Worse, is that the "Felicity" keeps telling "Sally" about her past, like that she wants the readers to recap what had happened in previous episode. Almost every page, "Felicity" tells "Sally", 'Yes, I know I told you, but remember last year when...' and bores us with what had happened. It sure doesn't sound natural and Felicity sends like 15 pages of tape her problems and Sally sends a half a page reply comforting Felicity without even talking about what's going on in her life. The good stuff is probably how "Felicity" acts, for example, the coffee shop with Ben. Also, the pointless goodies like how "she" tells us pointless things like 'german gum tastes like body odor and cliantro' and 'her mom's recipe for cookies'. The few jokes are hilarious as well. Overall, 'Summer' doesn't conclude anything with Noel, Julie, Elena, Ben, and Felicity in the end which is why it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. My guess is the writer was so embarassed that she added 'by Felicity Porter' on the cover. Another thing, "Felicity" turned the radio to 'Red Wine' by U2, isn't it "Red Red Wine" by UB40? The real author needs to get her facts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Who actually wrote this book?, Nov 6 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Felicity: Summer (Paperback)
As an adult fan of the TV show, and a big fan of fiction for young people, all I can say is . . . ouch. How hard can it be to give a character in a book the same voice as the character on television? Evidently, hard indeed.
