Product Description

Product Description

At last, a field guide to identifying and doing battle with more than 100 stains, from tomato juice to tar, from avocado to urine!

Field Guide to Stains is divided into handy sections for easy access to information when time is of the essence: Fruits and Vegetables, Meat and Protein, Household Items, Garage and Yard, and more. Readers will learn more than just removal techniques—details include general descriptions and likely seasons, times, and areas of occurrence.

Did you know that a yogurt stain is more likely to occur in January (when New Year’s resolutions demand more healthy eating), and that correction fluid stains are more prevalent in April (when the pressure to complete your taxes on time is at a high)?

Includes more than 100 full-color photographs of stains, each one cross-referenced to its description and step-by-step removal advice. Quick-reference icons guide the reader to the most essential information in each entry. This guide has a sturdy, stain-proof exterior—making it a necessity for every cubicle, glove compartment, and college dorm.

Field Guide to Stains is a must-have for everyone about to venture out into the wild, to the kitchen, or to a night on the town!

5.0 out of 5 stars STAIN BUSTER!, Oct 14 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Field Guide to Stains: How to Identify & Remove More Than 100 Stains (Paperback)
I have not been this pleased with a book purchase in a long time! I read a piece in The New York Times that sparked my interest and purchased Field Guide to Stains. And let me say, that the stain removal techinques I've tried really work! What's more it's an interesting read and the close-up photos of the stains are not only hilarious, but very useful for identification. This book will get a lot of use around my house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on!, Jun 30 2008

If you have ever had to actually toss out a perfectly good garment that you loved with lots of more life left in it just because of a stain that resisted every attempt to dissolve it, this is most definitely the book for you.

Packed with information and illustrations, The Field Guide to Stains will help you remove more than 100 different types of stains, and the information is divided up into sections by type for easy research while preparing laundry.

The Field Guide to Stains: How to Identify and Remove Virtually Every Stain Known to Man is well-worth the investment, because potentially it will save you a fortune on even one favorite garment that you won't have to needlessly replace.

I love this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Queen of Laundry Boo-Boos, Sep 10 2009
By Lura L. Willhite "www.ChangingAttitudesllc.com" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Field Guide to Stains: How to Identify & Remove More Than 100 Stains (Paperback)
I'm not the best in the laundry room...don't even get a bottle of bleach around me, I'll ruin something everytime. But, I've very good at getting something on my clothes. This book is fabulous. Every time I have a stain, new or old, I refer to the book and follow the instructions to a T. Each time the stain is removed.

Yesterday, I had a roller ball ink pen sticking out the bottom of a purse and, of course, I had five 10 inch marks all over the back of my hips on my BRAND NEW white pants. Sure enough, I got out the book, indexed ink and followed the directions. I could not believe the stain just got pulled off onto the other cloth.

I keep the book in the laundry room above the washer!
