Book Description

Nearly everyone would like to have more strength to hit that ball a little harder or reach that goal line a little quicker. This book is aimed at active men and women who want to build up muscle mass to improve their sports performance, or who simply want to feel healthier and look better. Here are 50 of the most valuable muscle-building secrets used by thousands of sports trainers, professional athletes, and bodybuilders. Each individual entry contains a brief summary of a specific exercise, followed by a more detailed explanation of the process. Also included are descriptions of the latest research findings, quotations from the top experts in the field, and, where necessary, safety tips. Inspiring photos of professional athletes highlight techniques and show what can be accomplished with sound guidance.

3.0 out of 5 stars General Info, maybe too general..., Jan 29 2002
This review is from: Fifty Ways To Build Muscle Fast (Paperback)
The author obviously knows the subject matter. He seeks to write a very basic, general manual on beginning bodybuilding. The setup is very easy to follow, with chapters each discussing a different topic and seldom exceeding more than two pages. His best chapters are the ones on Creatine and other supplements, since this is his area of expertise.

However, if you are beyond the basics, you may be disappointed by this book. It will not teach you individual exercises or techniques. It will also not give you workout routines. This is simply a book covering the very elementary basics of bodybuilding (such as "do not overtrain" and "eat right").

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb information in an easy to read format, April 30 2001
By
deal (Virginia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fifty Ways To Build Muscle Fast (Paperback)
This book is presented in a straight-forward and easy to read format. Each of the "50 Ways to Build Muscle Fast" is summarized and then followed with supporting information. The book has utilized pictures and charts to keep the reader's attention. The short chapters (there are 50) can be read individually or as I did, in one sitting. Everything from "Accepting your genetics" to "Getting Enough Sleep" is included in a logical format.

The author, Dave Tuttle, has extensive experience writing for a number of bodybuilding publications. His book is factually accurate with helpful references throughout. He provides a wealth of knowledge for those just beginning to lift weights. More advanced enthusiasts will use it as a reference to stay focused and motivated.

You don't have to aspire to be a professional bodybuilder to benefit from this book. All of us, teenagers and older, need to work towards this goal - that of building muscle - for a longer and healthier life.
