No one in this book is a nice person. They are rude to each other, insult each other, scream at one another, don't let their best friends explain what is happening, their opinions and motives. They are downright nasty. I should have stopped reading it at about 50 pages instead of trudging through to the end. Even the plot is stupid. It is very repetitious and takes forever to advance. I wanted to shake Tom, Billie and Milo at various times in the book to bring them to their senses. And the "deus ex machina" at the end left me feeling cheated. Of course I read it in French. Bonne chance!
