Now here are 4 modern movies that have great stories and great actors. Lot of comedy, romance and tears. Gotta have those 3
qualities in a movie.
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan rate high with me among todays actors. I'm a fan of the oldies and while some of the new actors are pretty good, they just don't rate as high as John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart oh and so many others of their era. They worked hard for their stardom and Oscars, a large percentage of actors today get theirs for nothing or just for publicity.
Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, Hugh Grant, are filling up the space left by the old timers. Tom Hanks is one of themost versatile new actor I have seen on the screen in a very long time. Sandra Bullock also can turn herself into any type of character that is called for. Meg Ryan also tops my list as a good actress.
I don't get out to see many of the new movies. At my age, I don't get around as well anymore so I wait for them to come out on TV or DVD so I can see them. That way, if I really like the movie, I can watch it again anytime I want to. That's one of the good things about getting old...you can watch a movie or read a book many many times and enjoy it just a much, and sometimes more that the first time, because you can't remember them as well.
