Great chance to get a book I bypassed back 30 years ago, Sep 3 2010

This review is from: Film Tricks: Special Effects in the Movies (Paperback)
This book was advertised as being in "New Condition" by the re-seller with Amazon. The price was fair enough for me so I thought I would chance it. I did. The book came in new condition pretty much the way it was advertised. It came faster than I ever expected it to. It's one of those times you expect something not to be the way it was advertised but in this case, it came with greater speed than I ever expected and in better condition than I ever expected for the price I thought was extremely reasonable. I have kept the contact info for this reseller as I fully intend to do business with them again in the future.
The book itself (FILM TRICKS) appears to have gone out of print almost as soon as it appeared. I'd first seen it in a bookstore in Washington D.C. and figured I would wait and buy it when I got home but when I got home, the book was nowhere to be found and impossible to special order as it was no longer available. I figured I should have bought it as soon as I saw it but I missed out. Thirty years later, I look on Amazon and sure enough, there it is, advertised in new condition for only about $3.00 more than it sold for thirty years ago. I ordered it and I had forgotten about the quality of the text and photographs. Owning it is like seeing an old friend again only not having to say good-bye. This book is the last of a dying breed, which is a special effects book with behind-the-scenes photos. Since everything now is done inside the computer, the only behind-the-scenes photos are of people sitting at computers with an effects supervisor standing behind them. One of the co-authors was an editor for FANGORIA magazine and he is quite knowledgeable.
