Set at an experimental community on Mars in the year 2039-2040, Robot Wars features 14-year-old virtual reality specialist Tyce Sanders. Life on the Red Planet is not always easy, but it is definitely exciting. As Tyce explores his strange surroundings, he finds that the mysteries of the planet point to his greatest discovery-a new relationship with God. He talks about his growing faith and curiosity in a manner that kids can relate to as they are probably wondering some of the same things. Book five, Final Battle, begins with Tyces threat to reveal his special talents to the world-much to the dismay of the rebels who want to keep the technology a secret. Tyce has to battle the rebels and their plot while trying to return to Mars. The success of the entire Mars Project depends on his every move.

Our family has loved this entire series (kids-9, 13, 15) and have anxiously awaited each evening's reading. Chapters are nice and short so we can read one or more. The characters respond in realistic ways (no one's perfect!) and I think my kids can relate to the kids in the book. Each book can potentially stand alone (each one provides background explanation) but definitely worth starting at the beginning.

My boys are 14 and 10. They both love all of Tyce's adventures. We read it together, the talks that come out of this family time are both spiritual and fun!

I bought the first 4 books in the series for my 14 year old grandson not realizing that there was a 5th volume. He's been clammoring for the last book. That is saying something! (He's not an avid reader.)
