This book, by one of the most dedicated fans, is not only for the hardcore viewers and sophists of LOST but also for the regular viewer wanting to find her way through. Even the most avid watchers will sometimes get confused by the developments and Nikki manages shed light on all aspects of the show.

Throughout Seasons 1 and 2, LOST was one of the most misunderstood shows on TV. With "Finding LOST", Nikki guides us through every episode as if we were on a safari, helping us understand its meaning and find hidden gems without ruining the experience of living the story. Through it all, she still lets us take in the show and its meaning as we see it and she gives us the tools needed to understand the greater themes and aspects of the story. For every episode, Nikki refreshes our memory and gives a personal analysis of what we may (or may not) have seen, complete with "Highlights", "Did You Notice?" and "Interesting Facts" then concludes with questions the episode should have raised in our head, whether they seem of great importance to the show or quite insignificant, given that this is LOST, nothing is as it seems.

The way in which Nikki shares her own experience and invites us to participate ([...]) is a strong enough reason to keep your personal copy of these volumes next to your DVDs. But what pushes this book above and far beyond any others are the side notes that we are sucked in so successfully. There are neat actor biographies, spanning the whole cast, but also those of historical figures - who have appeared either in name, reference or work such as John Locke - description of important concepts (I-Ching, Blast Door Map) and, most compelling, summaries of literary works that have been referenced in some way or other on screen - from the minimal "Watership Down" to the evident "1984".

All of these arm the reader/viewer with a great arsenal to enjoy all aspects of the show, be it from the relationships, character developments or the intricate web of relatedness between characters to the mythology of the island, the meaning of LOST and the story that is unfolding before our eyes. The only con of Nikki's books is that it will make you want to re-watch every episode again ([...]), read every book to appear on the show and catch up on the works of those who are referenced - though positively expanding the reader/viewer's mind to extremely valuable works of various fields!

"Finding LOST" is great resource for anyone who wants to get more out of their experience or someone who feels somewhat tripping over the story, or even anyone who is afraid to start the great endeavor that is the experience of LOST.
