This DVD Contains A PUO Ad For Pontiac,
By
This review is from: Finding Neverland (Widescreen) (DVD)
This is a great movie with some excellent performances, with child actor Freddie Highmore stealing the show. However, this DVD contains a Pontiac ad that you cannot get out of sitting through. I found out from the internet that it's called a Prohibited User Operations (PUO) ad. This is the first time I've come across one and frankly I got so mad it took me awile to start watching the movie without spitting bile. Imagine paying almost 30 bucks for a DVD and being forced to watch an automobile ad every time you pop in the DVD. It's enough to turn you into a raving conspiracy theorist. Anyway, Johnny Depp's incredible as usual, and Barrie's story is a poignant one. Don't miss it, but I wouldn't recommend the DVD.

Awsome movie and an excellent soundtrack,

People shouldn't judge the movie just because there is a car add before it. I know we didn't buy the DVD to watch the add but rate the movie not the add! Anyhow I saw the movie too many times to count and still it gets to me, the emotions, the imagination, the acting and so on are so beautifully portrayed.

Never mind the ad, this is golden,

This is a wonderful journey into the creation of Peter Pan, and the workings of the kind, generous heart and mind of the genius behind the story. His steadfast and unselfish giving to a family that was open enough to believe and pretend along with the real Peter Pan, Sir James Barrie, is completely captivating. Don't let a brief ad throw you off of enjoying this lovely movie - that's the time to go and make popcorn. If people reviewing focused less on the ad and more on the messages intended by this movie, they'd be better for it. We need more movies like this one, especially one that helps us understand and celebrate a brief snippet in the life of one man who shared his remarkable ability to help us all believe in the possibility of Neverland.
