Tommy is already a favourite of mine so it was a great pleasure to have him team up with Chet to make this great collection of music. I play it in my car and find it relaxing to listen to.

Lovely album with sublime picking... I listen to it often... BUT. In my opinion Tommy Emmanuel is best enjoyed live. He is such an entertainer, very generous and if you want to truly appreciate him check him out on YouTube (If you can't get to a concert...)

Chet was an idol of Tommy's as he was for millions of others over the years, including George Harrison, Jerry Reed and Les Paul. To hear him play with Tommy is marvelous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Listening pleasure Jun 13 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this cd with high expectations and was not disappointed. My favourite songs are the title song, "the day fingerpickers took over the world" and "Ode to Mel Bay", probably because I love the humour in them and the melodies are so tasteful that I find myself singing them throughout the day. The other songs on the album are instrumentals, as far as I remember with the occasional blend of Tommy or Chet's voice humming, hollering, or singing the notes. If you are hoping for a production show-casing the insanely brilliant talent of Tommy and Chet with blazing fast licks on every song, then you might find it wanting... but there was enough great guitar playing throughout that I was quite pleased.

J'aime bien cet CD. Tommy et Chet sont de très bons artistes. Ce CD s'écoute très bien mais je trouve une peu trop "country" certaines plages. Read more

I own every CD that Tommy has recorded, barring "greatest hits." This one is so fun -- it kind of brings you back to his touring roots. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars very nice.
I'll have to disagree with some of the views presented here. Sure, this album does not showcase each artists talents fully but than again from the tracks, you can tell that they... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the Best of Tommy or Chet
After all, I only gave it a '4'.

On the other hand, "Ode to Mel Bay". Oh. My sides hurt.

Somehow, given the people performing, the irony is just too much to bear! Read more

Austrailian Tommy Emmanuel is a superb player and fun performer. Chet is "the" master whose perfection is best heard on his recordings. Read more

A collection of beautiful songs by two of the greatest living guitarists. Chet's health may be failing, and this could well be his last album. Read more
