Nine Profane Pieces,
By Reader and Writer "Chris" (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fireworks (Paperback)
The tale, as opposed to the story, has but one moral function -- according to Angela Carter -- and this is to create unease. Of course I'm a fan of Carter's linguistic pyrotechnics. In this book she blends reminiscences with profane tales. All are dreamlike works of perception and craft. Tough to find this book but worth reading as there are some brilliant passages that snap the brain and choke the airways. Wonderful book
