HASH(0xa26596e4) out of 5 stars A good read Aug. 26 2011

This is a good read if you have only short bits of time and enjoy short mystery stories. Although I was disappointed that there was no story by Lee Child, the other writers were well established and enjoyable.

HASH(0xa275881c) out of 5 stars All of these stories are in another collection you may have already bought March 25 2014

I know some may think a low rating for this reason is wrong but I think it's appropriate when people are being deliberately misled. If you have the book/ebook "First Thrills" (with 25 short stories by various authors) and available here:

then you already have all of the short stories in the "First Thrill" volumes 1 through 4 which all just repeat a subset of the exact same short stories.

I only paid $2.99 for volume 3 before I realized what was going on and it isn't worth my time to go through any hassle to get my money back - but I thought I'd warn others.

HASH(0xa2758534) out of 5 stars surprisingly good Feb. 22 2012

This is a collection of short stories with great plot twists at the end. I love it when you can say "Aw I didn't see that coming!" Talented writers in a different format.
HASH(0xa275a108) out of 5 stars Not my cup of tea, but you may well love it. Oct. 8 2015

This is the second of a set of three short story anthologies. The ones here are very dark (noir) compared to the first volume. In that one I found two new-to-me authors. None in this one.

That's not to say you won't love it. These are well respected authors with giant followings. I recommend books like this to get a taste of several authors and their characters for a very low price compared to buying separate books.

I gave it 5 stars because it is a well matched, well written set. The fact that it isn't the kind of story I like to read isn't the fault of the authors or the anthologist. Speaking of which, this was compiled by Lee Child but it is NOT A REACHER book. Those who mark it down because of that are totally missing the point.

This is a relatively even quality collection, and I enjoyed it very much. For a relatively low price, I'm always happy to find a collection by solid writers that includes all original work. If you enjoy thrillers by Coonts and Child, I think you'll enjoy this entry into their series.
