Pour les amateurs d'arts martiaux ou simplement les amateurs de Jet Li, ce films est un divertissement dans la plus pure tradition des films d'arts martiaux des année 70. Les techniques de combat et les chorégraphies sont réussies. Même le scénario propose un certain côté intéressant. Les suppléments sur la version Ultimate Edition sont très instructifs et sont sans contredits une belle valeur ajoutée.

This is an awesome movie with Jet Li and probably one of the best, imo. I love the setting, style and characters, all of them! The movie is basically a remake of Bruce Li's Chinese Connection and follows the same popular version of a master of Jing Woo school getting poisoned. His student returns to China from Japan to uncover the truth and bring revenge on the ones who killed his master. The movie is excellently done with perfect fight scenes, awesome and unexpected characters and just bravery. It shows what bravery looks like, especially in Jet Li's girlfriend. Surprise, surprise!
Anyway, watch it, no matter what you like in Jet Li, it's a great movie. It's not a drama, but has heart, it's not a comedy, but has some humour, what it is is martial arts action!

Ce film est probablement l'un de ceux qui aura annoncé, sur le plan international, l'influence incontournable qu'allait avoir le cinéma de Hong Kong sur le film d'action. Fist of legend est bien filmé, les scènes d'action bien chorégraphiées, le montage bien fait, le scénario moyen, comme le jeu des acteurs. Mais Jet Li, en plus de prouesses physiques impressionnantes, dégage une grande détermination. Ce qui fait de Fist of Legend, à mon avis, le meilleur film de Jet Li à ce jour. La copie BluRay est bien supérieure à la copie DVD, doublée en anglais seulement, qui circulait depuis quelques années.
