Great book!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fitness Swimming (Paperback)
Being a long-time runner, I recently got interested in triathlon, but my swimming technique was way below average. After searching without success for a good book on swimming technique, I found this one and highly recommend it. The author analyzes the dynamics of swimming technique in an easy to understand way and then decomposes the movements of swimming, so that even people with little experience can follow on a regular schedule. I think the book is a great example how a sports training book should be. Congratulations!

The Best,
By Paul O'Connor (Avenel, Victoria Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fitness Swimming (Paperback)
This is the best book I've read on swimming. instead of just work-outs and the benefits of the swimming, this book actually helps to improve technique - in a step by step guide. It has all the workouts etc that other books have. As I siad - the best I've read - wish I'd had it years ago...

The best book on freestyle swimming,
By Evgeny Sakhonko (Fort Worth, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fitness Swimming (Paperback)
This book is excellent. I read it in three days and it is a wonderful source of information about swimming the right way. I am a beginner/intermediate level swimmer who has had some formal instruction but never was on any team. Part I of the Book explains in detail how to swim in the most efficient way. It is well written, clear and full of wonderful humor. Part II gives you plenty of workouts organized by color (green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, and the red zones) based on duration and intensity. The workouts include lots of drills which I feel will almost invariably make your freestyle stroke better. The book does focus exclusively on the freestyle stroke. Part III tells you how to set up your own year-round swimming program.
