This compilation of essays has a moment for everyone. Each essay is well-crafted and provides us with an insight into real-life situations that many, if not all, of us can easily relate to. Real people, real stories, and real life realisations run throughout the pages of this book.

I do not hesitate to recommend that this book needs to rest on every bedside table. It is an inspirational read.

This is definitely a warm blanket, hot cup of tea, curl up on the couch kind of book! Whether the essay made me laugh or cry, each one expressed a universality of experience that made me feel like I was sitting in a room surrounded by my closest girlfriends.

A great read with 28 unique perspectives on life. Oct. 28 2010
By aero1117 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is perfect for anyone looking for new and interesting perspectives on the basis of relationships and life. Each essay brings to the book its own unique viewpoint and invokes a feeling of empathy for those who have struggled with hardships of love in their lives. It's definitely interesting, and moreover, a refreshing turn from the common novel. My verdict: buy copies for your friends too!

Fits, Starts & Matters of the Heart - 28 True Stories of Love, Loss and Everything in Between
A book of moving, touching, and funny essays by different women. A great read with stories women can relate to with laughter and tears. I couldn't put it down and enjoyed searching through the different theme chapters. I bought copies as gifts for my friends.

Perfect gift for your book-loving girlfriends! Nov. 7 2010
By Michelle Taute - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I feel like this book covers all the things my girlfriends and I discuss over drinks--relationships with parents, kids, spouses, pets and even rock stars. It's funny, sad, heart-tugging and insightful all at the same time. (But, thankfully, never sappy.)

At under $12, I plan to buy a few to give to all the book-loving women in my life. I think it would be great for holiday gift exchanges, birthdays, and even Mother's Day. And since it's an essay collection, the book is easy to digest in small chunks of time, squeezing in an essay whenever you have a few spare minutes.

You'll laugh. You'll cry Oct. 31 2010
By Astoriawriter - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is a great collection of thoughtful and wise essays by talented writers. Topics include parenting adult children, a woman's obsession with her husband's hairy back, another who connected with her absentee father through their shared hair, a lifelong love affair with Nutella, the affects of a dog on a marriage, and tales of a teenager's sexual awakening (which includes confrontation by her sexually frank mother). It's a quick read that will take you through a full spectrum of emotions in 151 pages.

I am a fan of essays in general, and this book did not disappoint. With a variety of stories from women young and old, there's really something for everyone in this collection. It would also make a great gift for moms, aunts, sisters, friends...
