From a send-up of Lolita (you have to read it- trust me), this massive collection of stories delivers the goods. I kept picking it up and reading from it. It's a little uneven, and some of the stories are much stronger, but there are moments of the sublime in here. I read a review of this book in Seattle and the reviewer thought that the stores went from brilliant to average, but the really good stories make the book worth it. Funny thing is, I liked some of the ones he didn't! The stories (except for a few long ones) are super short and can be read in a few minutes. If you're looking for new fiction and like stories this will keep you busy. Tom Robbins and David Sedaris fans enter here.
