Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

This comic thriller in the Fletch series takes us back to Fletch as a fledgling newspaper reporter who wants to get promoted out of the society pages. His chance comes when Donald Habek, a wealthy lawyer, is shot dead. Fletch competes with Biff Wilson, the crime reporter, to investigate the murder, and this leads to interviews of many oddball characters in various strange situations. The story, which PW called "wild, ribald and swift," ends in a mad scramble, with Biff enraged at the competition and the police trying to arrest Fletch. Major ad/promo; author tour.

From Library Journal

As Rose Kennedy's personal secretary in the 1970s, Gibson was in a prime position to observe the Kennedy family. What emerges after all the anecdotes of the famous family members, and the particular eccentricities of Rose, is the story of an elderly lady, sapped of much of her former vigor. She is ill, often cantankerous, tired of children and problems. She seeks routine, order, and calm. There is much of interest to Kennedy fans, e.g., a detailed account of a visit from Rosemary, the oldest daughter, retarded and institutionalized since childhood. Given the continued interest in the Kennedys, most public libraries will want this. Terrill Brooks, Baker Coll . Lib., Flint, Mich.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Weekend Read, April 15 2004
By
This review is from: Fletch Won (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book pretty well. I've seen the Fletch movies and I'm a huge fan of both, but I've never read the Fletch books. I thought I'd start with this one. The author seemed to begin to delve into some other storylines and then stopped. We were intorduced to characters that were unimportant to the story. I think maybe he was trying to use up page space or something. Anyway, the book was entertaining at best. I gave it 4 stars because I don't think the author meant it to be anything other than entertaining!

5.0 out of 5 stars Win With Fletch Won, Aug 14 2003

I hate reading non-fiction books, but I loved Fletch Won. As a fan of the Chevy Chase flicks and a fan of Kevin Smith (who will write and direct the movie version of this book), I took a chance on Fletch One to see what the fuss was about the Fletch books. If you are looking for a great mystery, look elsewhere. If you are looking for an entertaining book that is hilarious and an easy read, pick this book up. I can't wait to put my hands on the other Fletch books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fletch's first case, May 2 2000

This review is from: Fletch Won (Paperback)
This book is sort of a prequel to Fletch. In this book, Fletch tries his first case as an investigative reporter. This book is a great mystery novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars One more winner in the Fletch series, Oct 4 2001
By Ken - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Fletch Won (Paperback)
I don't like it when reviewers reveal plot points, so I won't. Suffice to say, if you like other Fletch books, you will like Fletch Won. If you haven't read any Fletch books, you might want to start with Fletch, which was adapted into a funny movie starring Chevy Chase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy, fun reading., Dec 13 2011
By J. Rodeck - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Fletch Won (Paperback)
Fletch is a good change of pace from most sleuths. He's a learn as you go amateur who is very funny. This one features a scary violence-is-beautiful poet and the inside scoop on an upscale escort business. Easy, fun reading.
